Welcome to Our Nursery

Our Nursery

Starting your child's journey with us at Polesden Lacey Infant Academy Nursery, part of the LEO Academy Trust, means they are embarking on a truly exciting adventure.

Our nursery is where a love of learning begins, and we are committed to providing a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for every child. Overlooking greenbelt fields in which horses graze and within walking distance of Polesden Lacey National Trust, the nursery really benefits from its idyllic location.

Our Nursery Experience

We believe that learning should be fun and engaging. Our approach is centered around play-based learning, encouraging children to explore, discover, and develop new skills at their own pace. We provide a dedicated Nursery indoor and outdoor space where curiosity is sparked and friendships are made.

Our nursery, Hedgehog Class, features a thoughtfully designed  learning space. The room is designed to spark curiosity, investigation and learning amongst peers. We also provide a calm area, a dedicated changing area, and child-height toilets and sinks to encourage  independence. In addition to our Nursery room, we have an outdoor undercovered classroom as well as a large playground space to ensure physical activity throughout our day.

At Nursery the children have the choice of bringing in a healthy packed lunch from home or purchasing a hot nursery meal that is freshly prepared on site by our dedicated Chef. In addition, healthy snacks are available during the morning and afternoon.

The nursery is an integral part of our school community, and our dedicated team works closely with each child to help them feel secure and happy, building the crucial foundations needed for a successful transition into Reception.

Beyond our indoor and outdoor learning areas, we have a strong focus on outdoor education. Our unique woodland area, allotment, sensory garden and trim trail with large sandpit allows even our youngest learners to connect with nature, build resilience, and develop a sense of wonder in the world around them. In addition, a sport specialist within LEO ensures physical development is prioritised through a diverse range of activities.
