I have 15 years of teaching experience across both state and private sectors, working in international and independent schools, as well as universities. My subject specialisms include English and History/Social Studies. I am an active volunteer as a Beaver Leader with the 1st Bookham Scouts and a parent to three boys, living within the Bookham community. I have also lived and worked abroad in Italy, Spain, and Australia, which has enriched my global perspective and teaching practice.
Emma Hippolyte: Co-opted Academy Committee Member
My children attended Polesden Lacey Infant School and I was involved with the Friends Committee. With my background in the charity sector, I was always impressed with how the school promoted the children's curiosity in the world around them and had a strong eco and forest school ethos. Since my children left the school, I have trained as a primary school teacher. As both a past parent and now as an educator, I am delighted to be involved with the governance of this fantastic school.

I was involved with governance of an infant school for 14 years in my previous home town, so when I moved to Bookham 2 years ago I was keen to get stuck in again – and how wonderful to nd this great school literally around the corner! My professional life revolves around individual and leadership development; it’s great to be involved at the very early development stages of children to help ensure they get the best possible start to their education journey.
